Peugeot 508 Mk1 (2012-2015)

This Peugeot is a likeable one, and small gripes aside, is largely pleasant to drive and live with - more flair than a VW Passat with a much better cabin that the Ford Mondeo. Even the entry Turbo S variant retains enough of the charm. We like the HDi GT for its engine, but not the "sporty" additions.

  • Handsome big Peugeot has lots of presence.
  • Decent refinement, performance, and space.
  • Plenty of kit for the money.
  • Wide range even has something for diesel fans.
Against
  • Six-speed auto much improved over previous efforts, but still not the slickest.
  • iDrive-style system could be improved in terms of user friendliness.
  • Lack of cubby holes for the driver.

    Punchy Engine
    Good Handling (sporty) for high speed cruising
    Acceptable FC for highway cruising (12-13+km/L)
    Good safety spec
    Value for money (price+safety spec+gadget)
    Nice interior design and material
    A bit thirsty for city driving
    Questionable interior quality (peeling after 1+ years).
    Firm ride sometime feel uncomfortable.
    Lack of service centre (long waiting time)
